The great quest of all our lives is finding a place where we belong in the world.
Paradoxically, I believe that we find our place of belonging in the exact place where we stand out. In my work as a CEO coach, professor at Duke University, mom, and author, I have found that every single person has--at least--one precise, inimitable, and intrinsic gift.
I call these gifts “superpowers,” and helping people to identify them is my calling.
Often, a person’s superpowers are also among their biggest blindspot. When you think about it, what’s extraordinary about you to the rest of us is just your every day normal. And we discount what comes easily or instinctively to us and think that everyone else has it too.
Fundamentally, I think that viewing the world through a superpower lens shifts how we operate in the world and has the power to revolutionize how we interact with each other at home and in the workforce. In the posts, you will find a superpowers mindset applied to different issues from (imposter syndrome to team building) and transform your thinking.
I’m also going to share tools for building your leadership playbook so that you can discover and apply your superpowers and those belonging to your teammates. My mission in life is to enable greatness in others. So, my hope for you is that you can make the biggest possible difference, build unstoppable teams, and live the fullest lives.
I also believe that you, the reader, are the hero of this newsletter.
It’s you who has to take the ideas and do the tough work of applying them to our lives.
But, I suspect you’re up to the task since we all know that heroes have superpowers.
Let’s discover yours.
